The one about the fabric

I read online a few weeks ago that Walmart will be phasing out their fabric departments! I don't like to sew, but I do buy an occasional piece of fabric now and then and would hate to see the fabric dept. go! ...and isn't it so easy to buy fabric while shopping for groceries at Walmart? Who wants to drag the kids to yet another store? (I know I don't.)

Today I signed a petition that is now going around, hoping to save the fabric departments.

That would be a shame......we have no Michaels or Joanns in the town where I live, so quite often I buy fabic, glues,(e6000 is less expensive than Michaels), pom pom fringe, gesso etc.

I'd be sad to see fabric go at my Walmart -- I'm in Toronto (Canada) and there are so few places to buy fabric or notions. I hope at least that they keep the patterns and thread......

Hey....how did you get fabric so pretty at Walmart?? I can see why you signed such a petition. I think it's just that EVERYTHING you touch, voila, turns pretty!

I agree, hate to make yet another stop. We have so few fabric stores as it is. You got some great fabrics.

I went & signed. My daughters and I love to take a spin through the fabric when we visit wal-mart. We will buy small amounts of yardage of 4 or 5 prints to mix together. We cut them in strips & make raggy flip flops. So comfy & so cute & they always get attention when you wear them in public! ;) I like being able to buy just 1/8 of a yard at a time.

I rarely shop there, but I LOVE knowing that I have a fabric source at 11pm! It needs to stay!
