nature hike

Labor Day we drove up to the top of Lake Mountain to hike along the ridge. Rob wanted to look for the iron nodules (which we did find--they are pretty are cool) he had read about online. I am really not into hiking so I decided to try and have fun anyway. I took pictures of things along the way and collected flowers and twigs to press or use in my art. It is amazing how a dry desert can have lots of different flowers each month of spring, summer, and fall. You just have to look close to see them.
I was really liking the juniper berries!
