The one about the free kittens
I was taken behind the woodshed last week by my crazy friend Emily, who tells me I need to pay more attention to the blog. hee hee
I have many photos and stories that never make it here. sigh.
Last week Austin found another passel of kittens up in the rocks on the hill in front of our house. This time we know they weren't left on purpose by * cough cough* lame construction workers trying to get rid of unwanted kittens while at work for the day nearby. *cough cough* grrrr!!! or should I say *hissssss*
These kittens had been born to a stray momma cat, who took up residence in Austin's friends garage to have her babies, then hid them about two weeks ago. Only four of the five remained for this sweet picture as Austin found a home to the other calico earlier in the afternoon.
They are about a month old here and oh so sweet!!!! We fed them and took care of them for a whole day until animal control could pick them up and take them to be adopted.

I found your blog through Pencil Lines. Your link there doesn't work but I figured out how to find you. I just want to say that I always have felt that the heart of someone who cares for animals is a good heart:) The picture of those kittens is fantastic!

Mer those are the most adorable kittens! I would have had the hardest time giving them to the animal control people. I hope they all found good homes.
Crazy friend Emily! What the??? Thanks for the posts...they made my day! Always nice to see a new one. Em
I think it's so great that Austin was so into caring for the kittens. Very sweet!!
Oh, I just want to take these kittens and love them forever!
That was so nice of you to take the kittens in until they could be further rescued. Isn't it crazy how fast camera technology is evolving now? By next month it seems my 10 megapixels will be nothing. Also, wanted to tell you I got to see your pretty Somerset cover on Sandra Evertson's blog today. Isn't life sweet.
Wow. Our lives are crossing over. I now have 8 precious kittens who were stashed by their wild mama. Being out in the country we can handle 8 cats so they shall stay here and entertain us and rid us of mice. We also have lots of Indian Paintbrush in Oklahoma. I have always loved it AND I am bad about telling life's anecdotes on my blog. I only think of things to blog about when I'm in the shower or driving in the car or some other impossible, non-blogging place.
Now, if only I could cross over into making art like you:)
Oh Marilyn, I wish I lived closer to you - I would have taken one of those little cuties in a heartbeat. We had the same thing happen almost 14 years ago when our Bootsy and Midnight were abandoned by their mama. We had to feed them with teeny tiny baby bottles till they could eat on their own. Bootsy passed away over a year ago, but Midnight is still going strong. I hope "your" kitties found good homes!
