The one about my desk
This has been my project all week. To uncover my desk so I can USE it!
Mixed media had turned me into a pack rat.
There is no easy and fast way to organize mixed media art fodder.
I wonder if it would be any worse to just put it all into a huge Rubbermaid container and paw through it when I need something?
I haven't been able to use my desk for months. My projects have moved down to the kitchen and dining room. Enough of the insanity.

Good luck!
I can't even walk in my studio right now. I will try to get up the guts to take a pic. I know you can do it!!
PS I still have that JUNQUE pack to send you.
Sounds rather familiar - love your desk by the way.
LOL! Everytime I organize, I think this will be IT... until I have to do it again!!
I'm haivng the exact same issue. It is so hard to catogorize collage supplies. All of a sudden you can't throw away old rusted nails and washers and glass jars b/c they are a vital part of your next project. After making birthday party invites and finishing a couple more swaps I need to do this too :) Good luck with yours! & Thank you so much for the Ephemera package. Come to my blog and see where I'm using your beautifully made Millinery flower :)
It makes me so happy to see this! This is what my kitchen/dining room table looks like. Unfortunately, it's also the first thing people see when they walk through the door of our apartment.
I appreciate your honesty to show what I'm sure pretty much every creative person's studio looks like esp. after a lot of work!
I actually (and Yes I know there is something wrong with me!! lol) like getting it all clean after it's gone all out of control....something like a freash start and perspective!
:)
OMG, I hear ya. I too love mixed media and have the same problem with storage issues. Pleas let all of us know if you come up with any ideas for putting things away. I just found your blog through Somerset Life, and so glad that I did. I've actually blogged a little about you on my own blog. Very cool.
Girl I feel your pain..... I have 2 tables at 6 feet each and the floor!!! Plus the tempature in our house is about 90 degrees which leaves little if any energy for work to be done! Awesome desk by the way!!!
Yes, I can relate!!! My DH thinks it's just me, but I keep telling him that all artists' studios look the same!!! :D
we're all guilty of the same thing, but I can tell you that right now i'm operating out of a rubbermaid tub and it SUX!!!!
I feel your pain! Mixed media art fodder-lol..yeah that's the worst to organize! I myself have many, many, drawers and baskets that are semi-organized...and a pile on my desk at all times. You just can never get rid of the piles! But I can't bear to throw anything away that I might use five months (or years) from now!!! Great blog by the way, this is my first visit.
I LOVE IT! It is so good to see other's workspaces and to know that I am not the only one!!! I will spend half a day getting re-organized, but, within 15 minutes of starting a new project....I just think I am more creative if things are on the floor, back of m chair, and every conceivable spot on my counters!!!

You got it bad, girl! Course it's no worse than mine right now. I used to go in the room, grab what I needed and go to the kitchen and make stuff. It's all downstairs now, and the room is clean but the desk is piling up!

Oh yay! An artTEEST just like ME! Just over a week ago I was telling Teresa M that my desk was disaster and she needed to come help unearth the poor thing... yours looks sooooo familiar... but I will admit, that I have been working on mine, so that I could work on some swaps I have going. Including one with my daughter who is doing a children's atc swap! She loves working beside mama! ;)
Hugs darlin!

LOL!! I can so relate.........seeing your desk makes me feel so not alone! I have to move stuff off mine just to work.......oh well LOL
What IS that desk?? It's the coolest thing I've ever seen. I swear we should apply to one of those DIY or HGTV organization shows. Wouldn't it be great to have a professional orgainizer come in and handle the entire matter??
