The one about the beautiful book
I think I am finally finished making artwork in Lilia's book. (sorry I am so slow!!) I added my pages, and took pics of the whole thing. Lilia's book is gorgeous! All handmade and dripping with pretty things. She even made a beautiful box to house the book.

The one about the chipboard letters
Last summer I bought a couple of boxes of those We R Memory Keepers chipboard letters because I had a 50% off coupon. I poured the letters into a tall white metal bucket and they sit on my desk. I try to use them whenever I can, since I have so many!
Lately I have been forgetting to use letters in the pages that I do in the books for the Alphabetica RR. So when Sue's book came, I took advantage of the opportunity to use these chipboard letters!

I painted the page (which was an actual old tabbed divider sheet--I chose the letter A) then glued letters all over it. Then the letters were painted in browns and I covered the whole thing with printed tissue.

The one about the Cadbury Mini Eggs
I tried to resist buying these. But I finally did yesterday because they are so cute! They are the sweetest little things! I like that they are pastel, have a chalky finish, and are speckled! I want to glue them to some artwork. lol
Yesterday at noon was the Easter Egg hunt at the kids' school. (Austin wouldn't let me take his picture.) I had volunteered to help out at the food booth afterward. I got to sell the candy bars. Now, why would you want to buy a candy bar after you just got a hoard of sugar in the egg hunt?
I must be having a sad, pathetic life because I had so much fun being outside (with my sandals on), doing something different. I got to walk home afterward all by myself. The weather was perfect and it made me feel happy.

The one about Sparkle Bella!!
I was unable to concentrate and I walked around bumping into things after Kim called last week to ask me to teach at Sparkle Bella!!
I think I need to cover my body with a couple dozen Hoodia patches to be ready to go by June 23rd! ...and buy some new shoes, get my gums evened out, my nails done, and hope my hair grows a couple more inches, and...and...
I am VERY excited (and honored) to be asked!
oh
my
gosh.
The Bella ladies!
I get to be a part of the Bella excitement!
I have a good start on my idea for a project and its gonna be fun and sparkly!!!
I get to go to Phoenix!

The one about the little bird
The book swap with Lilia has turned into a three-way swap that now includes Kari!
I made this last night for said book swap. The baby is like the little baby bringing in spring, since it is getting warmer outside. I decided to stop fighting the urge to always use children in my work and just go with it. Little kids are cute and its fun to do. The baby's wings are pressed flower petals. I wanted to add some little cursive-doodling writing that says, "what a little bird told me" but I chickened out. I usually don't like it when I add my own doodles.
I am not sure if this one is finished. Some things bug me.

The one about the mud and the Scandinavian woman
Savannah had a relapse and is home from school again today. Amelia really wants to go outside! I am tired of being home and having the tv on with someone sacked out on the couch watching kids shows. I want to be able to take them outside or go to the park, since the weather is getting nicer. There is mud all over, though, too. And kids always find a way to get into it. Bobby finally volunteered to take Amelia out to play and she had a blast. She always has to be brought in kicking and screaming! (my sweet tom-boy girl) :)
I was able to get quite a few pieces of artwork done for several projects I am in. Here is one I did for Caren McNee. She wanted us to incorporate an ATC into the page in this small little book. It was quite fun! I used a photo I bought from ebay of a woman in the 1920's from Scandinavia. I loved the look on her face! The name of the piece is SillyHeart.

I reeeeeely want these new stamps (like I need any new stamps)! Why oh why do they have to be so expensive.

The one about sick kids
It's Savannah's turn with the sickies...and mine, although for some reason I haven't had it nearly as bad. Austin missed school all week. Today I was tired of his ornery butt and took him to school after lunch. He was doing better and bored and bugging everyone. Amelia went to preschool so Savannah and I had a nap on my bed. Ahhhhhh. It's great to be free of a four-year old when you are sick and need to rest.
I am very tired of kid's tv, though. Be glad when all is back to normal!

The one about Amelia's window
My house is lame. I haven't done much to it since we moved in. Loser.
Especially Amelia's room.
Especially Amelia's room.
Today I was thinking about her window treatment. What if I used ribbons as the valance? I would have to work out the colors....
I am not sure if the ribbons should be all one length or different lengths. I think they should be tied at the tops, though. Maybe.

The one about the ribbons
I finally got my book put together and sent it off this morning. I am in need of some different ribbons. Old, faded, soft, crumpled, silk-looking yummy ribbons. Like the ones Lesley Riley uses all the time. Mine are too bright and patterned and perfect and scrapbooky (not that there's anything wrong with that). I just need yards and yards of Victorian kind of ribbon.
I have a little bit of the kind that 7 Gypsies used to make. I liked that stuff...

The brooch on the cover of the book was supposed to be a pale green. I added a little bit of acrylic paint to the Diamond Glaze that fills the center. It turned dark as it dried and then got darker still. Sort of like one of those Magic 8 Balls. lol
Do I like the look?
All signs point to yes!
Inside the hardened glaze are French words that say Candy and Paper Maker.

The one about Shambala
Shambala.
I have had this Three Dog Night song in my head all day. I was sick Wednesday night and went to bed and forgot all about LOST being on! We watched it last night instead.
Hurley and the VW bus and the push start. lol
"Shambala" is also in Drowning Mona (funny movie!!). So I'd have to say the song has grown on me!
I made this page today. It's a quote from a Cloth Paper Scissors article on Lizzie McDonald. The new issue (got it on Saturday) is a really good one---I like pretty much every article in there. I am not really into the Cloth part of CPS, and this issue had less Cloth and more Paper. :)
Yeah, I know; I copied Pam Garrison's style.
